77 2 0 1 9 - 2 0 2 0 5K Run to the Plunge Presented by PLUNGE WEEKEND FESTIVAL The Plunge Weekend Festival, celebrating its 12th anniversary as a festival, has become one of the most popular weekend celebrations in the First State, and is the prelude to Special Olympics Delaware's largest fundraising event of the year: the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge. The festival offers family-friendly fun, involving downtown Rehoboth Beach businesses which offer discounted menus and shopping, as well as children's activities. The 5K Run to the Plunge gives families and Plunge participants another event to rally around, and is the perfect way for people of all ages and abilities to support the Weekend Festival. The event also features Sand Sculpting by local artists, an annual Restaurant Chili Contest, Fire and Ice (hot wings and ice cream sampling), and an Ice Carving demonstration on the boardwalk.
