107 2 0 1 9 - 2 0 2 0 Traditionally the SODE Summer Camp is one of the feature events for more than 120 Special Olympics athletes who attend the three-day, two-night sessions. If held, they would have participated in many activities in a back- to-nature setting overlooking Millers Creek in Frankford. Athletes always enjoy several fun water activities like canoeing, swimming, kayaking and boating. Traditional camp sports events like archery, basketball, wiffle ball, and cornhole are also popular among the campers. Over 40 high school student- athletes would have attended camp as part of their experience at the annual Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Leadership Conference. In addition, more than 25 high school and college students from around the state volunteer as counselors. Unfortunately, Special Olympics Delaware's Summer Camp was canceled due to health and safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic. 2020 SUMMER CAMP
