51 2 0 1 9 - 2 0 2 0 2020 SCHOOL SOCCER SKILLS More than 1,500 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners would have participated in the soccer skills competitions and team tournaments statewide. Unfortunately, these events were canceled due to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. At the competitions, athletes would have participated individually in skills competitions or on their school's Unified teams in 5v5 tournaments. Demonstrations by Young Athletes (under 8 yrs. old) and athletes participating in the Motor Activities Training Program (MATP) were also scheduled to take place. Students from the host schools are given the opportunity to volunteer at these skills competition events. Event Sponsors
