Enrique Fonseca is on an age-worthy mission. His Fuenteseca Reserva Tequila is the oldest bottled tequila in the tequila industry's history—all 100 percent agave from the highland town of Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco (a premium address, like a wine from Bordeaux). Aged in French and American oak, this is the first brand permitted by the Tequila Regulatory Council to simultaneously carry both a vintage statement and aging statement on the label. Fuenteseca Extra Añejo 9 Year: Distilled in November 2003 with 85 percent of the run laid in American white oak previously used to age California red wine, and the remaining aged in used dark French Oak. Aged nine years at 3,800 feet in the town of Tequila, Jalisco. Fuenteseca Extra Añejo 12 Year: Distilled in June 2001 with 90 percent of the run laid in American white oak previously used to age red wine, and the re- maining aged in used dark French Oak. Aged 12 years at 3,800 feet in Tequila, Jalisco. Listing on page 37
