8 I SCL AWARDS 2021 EMILE MOSSERI – MINARI Emile Mosseri is an award-winning composer, pianist, singer, and producer who has quickly made a name for himself in the world of film music with his song-based approach to crafting emotionally stirring compositions. Mosseri studied composition at Berklee College of Music and is a member of the group Human Love, as well as a recording artist and touring musician. Mosseri made his feature film score debut with The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019), garnering critical acclaim from Los Angeles Times, Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly, and NPR. He then composed the score for director Miranda July's comedic crime drama Kajillionaire (2020), collaborating with singer-songwriter Angel Olsen to cover the Bobby Vinton classic "Mr. Lonely." Mosseri's television credits include the HBO series Random Acts of Flyness and Season 2 of the Amazon Original Series Homecoming. Mosseri's most recent score was for the family drama Minari, which made its award-winning debut at this year's Sundance Film Festival. LOLITA RITMANIS – BLIZZARD OF SOULS (DVĒSEĻU PUTENIS) Lolita Ritmanis is a 10-time Emmy Award nominee. In 2002, she was recognized for her work on the series Batman Beyond. She composed a 70-minute symphonic score for Blizzard of Souls, working with the award-winning state choir Latvija and a full symphony orchestra. This film also earned the Alex North Award for Best Score at the Tenerife International Film Music Festival and was nominated for the 2020 World Soundtrack Awards Public Choice Award. Lolita is one of the founders of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, serving as President from 2016–2018, and a founding member of Dynamic Music Partners. Lolita's family emigrated from Latvija to the US after World War II. SHERRI CHUNG – THE LOST HUSBAND Sherri Chung is a composer, a pianist, a vocalist, and a songwriter. Her compositions include both songs and scores for TV, films, documentaries, commercials, musicals, and music libraries. Chung currently composes the scores for Riverdale (CW), Blindspot (NBC), and The Red Line (CBS). Her latest Warner Bros. film, Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, was released March 2019 in theaters nationwide. One of her recent films, The Other Side of Home, was shortlisted for the 2017 Oscars for Best Documentary Short Subject. A longtime collaborator with composer Blake Neely, they have worked together on scores for CW's Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow. Chung studied music composition and theory at Jacksonville University, and attended USC's Scoring for Motion Picture and Television graduate program. She has also attended the Sundance Institute Film Music Program and ASCAP's Scoring Workshop.
