12 I SCL AWARDS 2021 NOMINEES FOR ORIGINAL SCORE GORDY HAAB – STAR WARS: SQUADRONS Gordy Haab is an award-winning film, video game, and television composer who has written music for many well-known titles. His most recent scores include Microsoft's Halo Wars 2, and EA's Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars Battlefront I, which won Music of the Year, Best Interactive Score, and Best Instrumental Score at the 2016 GDC G.A.N.G. Awards, and was nominated for a BAFTA for Excellence in Audio Achievement. Haab also recently scored Activision/AMC's The Walking Dead and Microsoft's Kinect Star Wars, which won "Best Music" at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Haab continues to compose the music for EA and BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic, for which he was awarded Best Original Soundtrack and Best Instrumental Music at the 10th Annual GDC G.A.N.G. Awards. Haab is a graduate of USC, where he received his master's in scoring for motion pictures, television, and other media. Prior, he received a bachelor's degree in music composition at Virginia Commonwealth University. MIKOLAI STROINSKI – METAMORPHOSIS Stroinski was born in Nairobi and grew up in Warsaw. A graduate of Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and Berklee College of Music in Boston, he now writes and produces music from his studio in Los Angeles. He has created music for the industry's leading networks, including CBS, NBC, FOX, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, and HBO. His list of TV projects includes the HBO-produced series Bez tajemnic (US version: In Treatment), Paradoks (originally the Polish production Paradox), and Zbrodnia (the Polish version of the Swedish TV series The Crime). As a composer for video games, Stroinski's credits include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine (CDPR) and the soundtracks for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game (CDPR), League of Legends (Riot Games), Age of Empires IV (Relic Entertainment/Microsoft), The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (The Astronauts), and Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts (CI Games), among others. GARRY SCHYMAN – METAMORPHOSIS Composer Garry Schyman's award-winning music can be heard in nearly every audio-visual medium, including feature films, primetime television, and video games. His haunting orchestral scores for the video games BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Ininite have earned him multiple awards, including top honors for Best Original Score from the British Academy of Film & Television (BAFTA) and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. As a celebrated composer of video game music, Schyman is known for his stylistic versatility and unique ability to fluidly draw from eclectic sources of inspiration. He captured the fantasy world of Tolkien for the adventure game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (nominated for a BAFTA Award) and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and paid playful homage to '50s sci-fi with his score for the 2005 game Destroy All Humans! (followed by two sequels). His score for the virtual reality game Torn was released in August 2018 as a soundtrack on the Varèse Sarabande label.
