2021 SCL AWARDS I 13 ILAN ESHKERI – GHOST OF TSUSHIMA Ilan Eshkeri is an award-winning composer, artist, songwriter, producer, and creator. Eshkeri's work is performed in concert halls, theatres, galleries, on film and television, and in video games. He is currently creating music for A Perfect Planet, his fourth collaboration with the legendary naturalist David Attenborough. Recently, Eshkeri and Ralph Fiennes completed their third film together, The White Crow. This followed the creation of the ballet Narcissus and Echo. Eshkeri has collaborated with Burberry and with astronaut Tim Peake and the European Space Agency, as well as with artists Annie Lennox, David Gilmour, and Sinéad O'Connor, among others. His credits include the Oscar and BAFTA-winning films Still Alice and Stardust, and he has scored the video games The Sims and Ghost of Tsushima. Eshkeri has been nominated for an Ivor Novello for The Young Victoria, as well as a BAFTA for The Snowman and the Snowdog. In 2020, Eshkeri was invited to become a Music Branch member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. SHIGERU UMEBAYASHI – GHOST OF TSUSHIMA Japanese film composer Shigeru Umebayashi (aka Ume) first gained recognition in 1985, when the music he composed for the Japanese film Sorekara (And Then) won several awards. He has since scored more than 30 Japanese films. Well known for creating "Yumeji's Theme" for In the Mood for Love, as well as collaborating with director Wong Kar-wai on 2046, Ume produced and composed the music for the films House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower. He has worked with directors around the world, such as Hong Kong's Ronny Yu for Fearless and England's Peter Webber for Hannibal Rising. Ume's credits include music for A Single Man and the award-winning score The Grandmaster, which he co-wrote with composer Nathaniel Méchaly. Ume wrote the score for the official documentary film of the Beijing Olympics, The Everlasting Flame: Beijing 2008. He has also composed scores for several video games, including 2020's Ghost of Tsushima. FOR INTERACTIVE MEDIA
