2021 SCL AWARDS I 27 ERRAN BARON COHEN – "WUHAN FLU" BORAT SUBSEQUENT MOVIEFILM Erran Baron Cohen is an award-winning composer whose work has encompassed a wide variety of projects, including film and television scores, album releases, orchestral commissions, and musical theatre. Erran has received three ASCAP Composer Awards for his scores to Borat, Bruno, and The Dictator. Other projects include the symphonic work Zere, scored for a 70-piece orchestra, which was performed in London and Kazakhstan and recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Erran composed the music for The Infidel—The Musical with book and lyrics by David Baddiel, which played at London's Theatre Royal Stratford East in 2014. Erran has also scored numerous television documentaries, adverts, dramas, idents, and theme tunes. He often composes songs for movie scores, including the final epic song "Dove of Peace," performed by Elton John, Bono, Sting, Chris Martin, Snoop Dogg, and Slash. As a songwriter and recording artist, Erran released two critically acclaimed albums with his band Zohar, and the solo album Songs in the Key of Hanukkah. SACHA BARON COHEN – "WUHAN FLU" BORAT SUBSEQUENT MOVIEFILM Sacha Baron Cohen is an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and Golden Globe-winning actor, as well as a producer. He is best known for his portrayal of iconic characters Ali G, Borat Sagdiyev, Brüno Gehard, Admiral General Aladeen, and Erran Morad. Baron Cohen has also acted in a handful of feature films, including Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Hugo, Les Misérables, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Most recently, Baron Cohen starred in two politically driven and emotionally resonant films. Among a brilliant ensemble of actors in The Trial of the Chicago 7, Baron Cohen shines as real-life yippie activist Abbie Hoffman. Baron Cohen also returned as his iconic character, "Borat," in the global hit satire Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, which he produced and co-wrote. Critics declared that Baron Cohen is "a brave comic genius, a new-age Peter Sellers" and "a master." ANTHONY HINES – "WUHAN FLU" BORAT SUBSEQUENT MOVIEFILM Anthony Hines is an Oscar-nominated producer and screenwriter. He is known for his frequent collaborations with Sacha Baron Cohen, such as the British television show Da Ali G Show, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, and Bruno.
