CONWAY FAMILY WINES Macari Vineyards 2009 Chardonnay, Early Wine, North Fork ($17) Brisk and nervy with racy citrus fruit and pure acidity; a charming, likable wine with spice and a long, tangy finish. Rancho Arroyo Grande 2007 Francis Coppola 2008 Director’s Chardonnay, Buehler Vineyards 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Valley ($28) Stylish and bright with persistent acidity and some subtle vanilla oak notes; clean and deep with lovely balance. 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Semillon. 90 SKALLI 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, La Capilla 94 Collection, Paso Robles ($46) Bright and juicy with explosive plum and black raspberry mounted on pure, ripe acidity; this is Bordeaux style with California elements; rich but never heavy, tangy but never sharp; long, seamless and balanced. Tandem 2007 Chardonnay, Sangiacomo Vineyard, Sonoma ($32) Bright and tangy with nerve and racy fruit; juicy, energetic and stunning with notes of sweet new oak and lots of lively flavors; long and balanced. 92 River Valley ($35) Pure, balanced flavors of stone fruits and citrus; lovely and stylish with the added complexity of 20% barrel fermentation; showing great length and depth.
