Dave Griffiths CAS is in the Vancouver BC area on the Durango pilot for Hulu with boom op Murray Forward and sound assistant Chia-Hua Chan. From Josh Berger CAS It's been a busy year in New York, and I'm looking forward to a full slate of releases this fall. I recently wrapped work on East of Eden for Netflix with showrunners Zoe Kazan and Jeb Stuart; Paper Tiger, reuniting with frequent collaborator James Gray following its premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival; and Focker-In-Law for John Hamburg and Universal Pictures. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented filmmakers and am excited for audiences to experience these stories in the months ahead. Philip Perkins CAS has been very busy mixing a number of docs, including Amos Brown, Assata Michelle, Fault of Freedom, Born Kicking, Oakland Original: Gilbert Gong, The Dreamers and I, and From Inside of Here. From Antoin Cox CAS: Greetings from the Netherlands! In July, we did a shoot during the Down the Rabbit Hole 3-day music festival in the Netherlands for the project Campingflight to Paradise. The logistics were difficult, so we used many cart setups, and had many moves across many locations. In addition to walking with carts and bags, our main setup was on a Gator (4-wheel drive cart) with a Deva 24D, Cedar, Rack24, 12 RX, and a Mix16. (See photo in "The Lighter Side" submission.) Our small cart had a Nova 2, Cedar, and nine RX channels. Our small bag used a Sennheiser AMBEO for wild tracks into a Nova 1. Since we were recording while the festival was going on, we had to work with the RF consultant and change frequencies multiple times across the three days for everything to work—and not interfere. Karol Urban CAS MPSE and David Tichauer CAS have been hard at work mixing Season 2 of The Hunting Wives. Karol has also been working hard on a theatrical documentary to be announced soon. From Chip Sovek CAS: It was quite a bit of fun to record the flyover, taxi, and propellers for a one-of-a-kind B-29 Superfortress bomber from WWII in Hagerstown, MD. "Fifi" is one of only two still flying in the U.S. and was featured over the Hudson River/NYC as part of the Sail250 commemorative events on July 4. The film, The 510th: A Fighter Squadron in WWII, will be headed to film festivals this fall, keep your eyes and ears out. (See photo in "The Lighter Side" section.) Jon Ailetcher CAS is back in the chair for Season 14 of Chicago P.D. after a wonderful hiatus and time at home. I'm joined this season by my outstanding crew, Jason Johnston on boom and utility Carly Perkins. Our Sound PA's this season are Jonah Fiden for the first month and then Trinh Vo taking over the rest of the season. Devendra Cleary CAS writing from set: I'm currently spending the summer in Los Angeles with some local locations and stage work at Warner Bros. on Paris Paramount, a feature film written and directed by Nancy Meyers. The sound team is myself, Patrick Martens on boom, and Maribeth Powers as utility. We also have Craig Dollinger joining us most days as an additional boom operator. Thank you, Michael Kaleta, for day playing with us as well! This shoot should carry us through September. Scott Carr CAS has been doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that— working on a few documentaries, a few live internet interviews, a few spatial sound effects sessions, and a few mocap projects. From Tom Hambleton CAS: 2025 saw the end of one set of studios and the birth of one that is still going strong in 2026! Completed the original score, along with sound edit and mix for Blue Eyed Girl, starring Marisa Coughlan, Beau Bridges, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Sam Trammell, and Eliza Coupe. Recently completed sound edit and mix on a host of great documentaries for PBS and streaming, including Liminal, Daniel's Garden, and Full Stops, along with Bison and The Death and Life of Martha Roth. Interspersed with those were ADR sessions for Super Troopers 3, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, Grey's Anatomy, 9-1-1: Nashville, Chicago Fire, and the upcoming Altar. So very grateful to be working so much in these challenging times and wish the best to all my colleagues in CAS! Sean Byrnes CAS is enjoying positive reviews for Sugar Season 2, which wrapped this time last year. Hoping for a Season 3 pickup! In the meantime, Sean just started rolling sound on the feature film, They Follow, the long- awaited follow-up to the horror hit from (2014), It Follows. Once again working with master boom op Gunnar Walter and welcoming utility sound Chris Hall to the team. Daniel Vasquez V. CAS recently completed work on James, the anticipated Netflix docuseries about Colombian soccer/football star James Rodríguez, which was released ahead of the World Cup. Daniel co- supervised and mixed the project with Sebastian Alzate and Juan Saldarriaga. Produced by Clover Studios, directed by Simon Brand. Amanda Beggs CAS is wrapping up Season 2 of All's Fair with boom op Eva Rismanforoush, utility Zach Wrobel, and trainee Reanna Peters. Hopefully, everyone tunes into Season 1 of The Shards so a second season
