14 FA L L 2 0 2 6 I C A S Q U A R T E R L Y Events Wrap-Up CAS Chicago Mixer Party The first-ever Chicago area CAS event was held June 27 as part of the Filmscape Chicago show at CineCity Studios (a support facility which operates a couple of blocks away from the Cinespace stages). Over 40 people covering a diverse swath of the film/ video industry were in attendance, providing a rare opportunity to gather and exchange notes about the state of the business while making some new connections. Gerry Formicola of Second City Sound assembled an extensive presentation of photos from various shows being shot in Chicago, and spoke to the importance of having an organization that is dedicated solely to the aspects of sound for film and video. Emerson Cole assisted with outreach to members of various sound teams that work outside the realm of major film and TV shows, giving newcomers an introduction to what the CAS does. Longtime CAS Chicago member Scott D.
