His enthusiasm and work ethic were unparalleled and he was very much aware of the production sound, which made everything much easier for us. I heard a story from the beginning of the production when someone asked Edward what kind of a trailer he would like and his answer was, "How many extras can I have instead of that trailer?" I also remember Edward shouting, "Let's do a wild track!" while we were waiting for a cloud. He made sure not a single minute on set was wasted. After every scene, he asked me if the sound was OK and if I needed any wild tracks before we moved on. And even if everything was OK and no wild track was needed, he'd still come up with his own ideas on how to make things better. He even did his own Foley on set! When you're working with such a hardworking and passionate director, you have to put 100% into everything you do just to keep up with them. All Quiet on the Western Front was definitely the most challenging, but also the best project we have ever worked on!
