With a career that spans over 70 films across five decades, innovations in digital recording, and the cultivation of a worldwide sound community through his online forum, the contributions to cinema sound made by Jeff Wexler cannot be overstated and were honored when he received the CAS Career Achievement Award in 2011. The Cinema Audio Society has set its timeline for the 60th Annual CAS Awards, which will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Every year, the CAS Awards recognize Outstanding Sound Mixing in film and television, along with an annual Student Recognition Award. Recipients for the CAS Career Achievement Award and CAS Filmmaker Award will be announced later in the year. "The CAS is looking forward to honoring the best contributions of 2023 to the collaborative art of motion pictures and television through sound mixing," says CAS President Peter Kurland. "We also will look at the milestones of our rich 60-year history advancing the art of auditory appreciation."
