The Delegate Assembly shall meet at least once a year. Section 2 – WEA Board of Directors A THE WEA Board of Directors, HEREAFTER KNOWN AS THE WEA BOARD, shall be responsible for the property and other business affairs of the Association and for carrying out the policies of the Association. The WEA Board shall include the officers of the Association, presidents of regions, and such representatives as may be specified in the Bylaws. Section 3 – Local Associations Upon meeting requirements specified in the Bylaws, any local education association shall be granted a charter as a local unit of the Wyoming Education Association WEA. Each commission shall bear full responsibility for its findings and recommendations within its area, but shall have no authority to obligate or act for the Association. ARTICLE V: OFFICERS Section 1 – Officers and Terms of Office The officers of the Association shall be: President, who shall serve as second alternate NEA Director; Vice President, who shall serve as first alternate NEA Director; Treasurer; and NEA Director. These officers shall be elected by the membership. The President, Vice President, and Treasurer AND NEA DIRECTOR shall each serve for a two THREE (23)-year term and may be reelected for not more than two (2) ONE (1) additional THREE (3)-YEAR terms. The terms of the President and Vice President shall be staggered with the term of the Treasurer. The NEA Director shall serve for a three-year (3) term, and may be re-elected for not more than one (1) additional term. Section 2 – Vacancies The WEA Board of Directors shall fill vacancies with appointments until the next annual election. Vacancies filled by election shall be for the remainder of the original term of office. ARTICLE VI: INITIATIVE AND REFERENDUM Section 1 – Procedure Ten percent (10%) of the active members of any one region, provided that these include ten (10) or more from each of at least three (3) local associations, may propose any measure by petition or may request a referendum upon any act of the Delegate Assembly or of the WEA Board of Directors.
