Eastern Laramie County Bus Driver Honored with WEA Education Support Professional Award Diana Wedl of the East Laramie County Education Association nominated him for the award in recognition of his leadership and superior knowledge of child safety. "Because of his vast experience, he is often called upon to coach and model for new drivers in the district on a continual basis," Wedl said. D arrel Repshire has been named the WEA Education Support Professional (ESP) of the Year. "ESPs play an integral role in educating Wyoming's students, as they are often the first and last people students have contact with each school day," said WEA President Kathy Vetter. Repshire has worked as a bus driver and substitute teacher for Laramie County School District #2 for over 30 years. 12 SUMMER 2013 Summer 2013.indd 12 Repshire's willingness to go above and beyond for his students has not gone overlooked by WEA members in his district. Repshire was one of the first bus drivers in the LCSD #2 to attend an advanced safety conference for bus drivers, and he now encourages further trainings for other bus drivers in his district. nearly 20 years and stresses to newer and younger members the importance of joining. The Education Support Professional of the Year award is presented to a WEA member whose activities reflect the contributions of education support professionals to public education. The purpose of the award is to recognize an ESP member who demonstrates outstanding accomplishments in and out of the workplace.
