Online Resources for Implementing the CCSS: The Council of the Great City Schools (http://www.cgcs.org/) has developed a suite of video tools that help introduce the public to the Common Core State Standards, equip teachers with a deeper level of understanding of how the standards will affect teaching and learning, and provide parents with a step-by-step guide for what their children will be learning in K-8. Educational Resources Now Available at MilitaryKidsConnect.org: Teachers and counselors of students from military families will find a wealth of valuable educational information at MilitaryKidsConnect.org, a Dept. of Defense website. The site features lesson plans, videos and resources, which can be found in the Educators Section. iCivics Curriculum Engaging Students -- Justice Sandra Day O'Connor founded iCivics in 2009 to teach the next generation to understand and respect our system of governance. Educational materials and 16 age-appropriate video games lead students through curriculum focused on our country's legacy of democracy and civic responsibility. iCivics offers standards-aligned curriculum free of charge at www.iCivics.org.
