I didn't talk to him then, I just watched as several people walked up to him to shake his hand and tell him how much they loved one, or a few, of his films. He was kind and gracious to all of them. Years later, I received the script for Tully from a producer who had sent me a few scripts over the years. I really connected with this one. Jason and I had an initial call over A the much-maligned medium of Skype. We talked about the script, about how we worked…and then a few weeks went by and I started packing for a job in Los Angeles that I thought was starting imminently. In the middle of packing, my agent called to tell me that the producer from Tully had just called with an offer to join the production and that the project I was preparing for had pushed.
