HELLO TRAVEL PROFESSIONALS, It's hard to believe that three quarters of 2009 is already gone. As you look back over this year, I hope you will find that you have made great strides and wise business decisions. Would you like to be among the members of TPOC that has earned one of the industry's two most prized certifications; CTA or CTC? You certainly can! We will be offering free study groups in the next coming months, so that you will be prepared to take either test at next year's conference. If you are interest- ed in working with one of the study groups, please contact David Moody, CTA or Alfreda Broughton, CTA, CTC. David is the president and Alfreda is the VP of the New Jersey Chapter. You can reach David via email at davidmoody@optonline.net or Alfreda at nicolestravel@excite.com. Remember to visit the sites of our associate and corporate members as shown on our website. They offer great products and fantastic Fam's for each of you. African American Journeys has a Fam excursion to Egypt, with special rates for TPOC members. Their site is www.africanamericanjourneys.com. The trip is fast approaching, so please give them a call TODAY if you are interested. TPOC is an association, but more importantly we are a fam- ily. It is so nice of you to be concerned about one another's well being. Thanks to all of you that have called me or sent emails concerning my health. I am doing ok. I would like you to also keep Curry Donar, owner of Millennium Travel in New Jersey and Carol Kirkland, owner of C&C Travel & Tours in Philadelphia in your thoughts and prayers. They both are hav- ing some health issues. In the President's letter, Charlotte mentioned our up coming fundraiser dinner. It will be held in Denver on Friday, Oct 9th at the Double Tree Hotel. On that Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. we will offer training for those who expressed an interest with working with the Heritage Team. This training will equip you to becoming a "Heritage Tourism Advocate." In conjunction with the dinner, we will also be host- ing a Heritage Tourism Summit on Saturday, October 10th. The theme of the Heritage Summit is " Economically Aligning Your Company with the Heritage Tourism Predictor." We are so happy that many of you are planning to join us in January, 2010 for our first TPOC Friends and Family Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. We will be among the first to meet Disney's first Black princess, "Princess Tiana," in person. January 15th through 18th will be a weekend of fun and one you will always remember!! Space is limited. So DON'T delay! Book your space TODAY! If you need additional information, please email me at jones- denv@aol.com or give me a call.
