6 • LMGI COMPASS | Fall 2023 CONTRIBUTORS Sco Trimble/LMGI Scott Trimble was born in San Francisco, raised in San Rafael and educated in archaeology at UC Berkeley. He started out in the film industry as a background extra when he was a teenager, and has been working in locations since 1999. He is a member of Hollywood Teamsters Local 399 and he was a founding member of the LMGI back in 2003- 2004. A current LMGI Board member, he was previously on the Board from 2004 to 2007 and he's been running our Comic-Con International panels since 2013. Some of his franchise credits include Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, DC, Transformers, Terminator, Fast & Furious, Jurassic World and Mission: Impossible. His 10-year-old inner self is constantly geeking out about his jobs and experiences. Stevie Nelson/LMGI Los Angeles native Stevie Nelson has been working as a Teamsters Local 399 key assistant location manager and scout in feature films and television for more than 25 years. Stevie is a founding member of the LMGI and has served multiple terms on the LMGI Board of Directors. Her photographic work has appeared in several juried photo exhibitions. When not in production, she can be found road-tripping and exploring with her camera or hanging out with her dogs at her little farm in rural Northern California. Credits include the TV series 13 Reasons Why, Fresh Off the Boat, House M.D., the feature films 80 for Brady, After Earth, Into the Wild and Kevin Costner's upcoming Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2. Ken Brooker/LMGI Ken Brooker is a location manager and unit manager based in Vancouver, Canada. He is active on both Boards of the Location Managers Guild International and Directors Guild of Canada, BC District Council. He is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Science, as well as the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. Les Fincher/LMGI Les Fincher is an NYC Local 817 location scout and commercial location manager. As a former LMGI Board member, and with a passion for the history and architecture of New York City, he is eager to promote the LMGI in the New York area. He first came to New York City as a select student at the invitation of Life magazine cover photographer Philippe Halsman. After spending the next six years as an instructor of photography and co-director of the Focus workshops at the New School for Social Research/Parsons School of Design, he transitioned into set still photography and then to scouting for commercials, television and film. He is a co- founder of the Association of Location Scouts and Managers (ALSAM), a group that helped establish work standards and guidelines that led to the formal unionization of the New York location scouts and managers. Diane Friedman/LMGI Diane grew up in New York and, with a background in art and photography, began her career in San Francisco working in cable and broadcast television. As a Los Angeles-based Local 399 location manager and scout for almost 30 years, she is proud to be a founding Board member of the Guild. For the past several years, she has been the co-chair of the LMGI Awards Committee for Television and is a co-editor on the LMGI Compass magazine. She treasures all the friendships and working relationships she has had over the years and values every opportunity to promote the work we do.
