4 • LMGI COMPASS | Fall 2023 L E T T E R FROM THE PRESIDENT It's hard to believe it's fall and we're almost through another banner year for the LMGI. I'm so pleased with the success of this year's 10th Annual LMGI Awards show. Location professionals, LMGI business partners, guests and friends traveled from around the world to celebrate the best of what we do. I'd like to thank the LMGI Awards Committee for all their hard work making our marquee event a success. The one night where we can celebrate the work, passion and pride in what we do. I'd also like to congratulate all the nominees and this year's winners and honorees. Additional thanks and appreciation to our hardworking Board members Danny Finn, David McKinney, Robin Macdonald, Alison Taylor, Angus Ledgerwood and Lisa Scope for putting on a fantastic 20th anniversary photography event the night before the awards. It was an impressive display of some of the incredible content our members have submitted to the pages of Compass magazine, and a wonderful reason for our colleagues to gather. While preparing my opening remarks for the awards show, I realized our membership now covers 40 countries and continues to strengthen and grow globally. It was astounding meeting members from all over the world who made the trip to the awards show. Because of this, the Board is working to reformat our international regional structure to best serve the needs of our diverse membership, to empower our regions to plan local events and make them stronger pillars of the LMGI. So, look for some exciting international news rolling out later this year. More recently, LMGI members have been invited to speak on panels around the globe. We are working on being present at more industry events such as the AFM, FOCUS and Berlinale. Our MarCom Committee is analyzing data from the membership poll we sent out earlier this year to hone our message and understand what our members hope to gain. Our Education Committee is working on developing skill set improvement programs for membership worldwide. Additionally, helping our business and industry partners clearly understand what location professionals do furthers opportunities for idea exchanges, panels and added Fam Tours. LMGI's strength grows with our memberships, so again, I invite all to become involved in our committees, events and activities. And please encourage any non-affiliated location professionals you work with or know to join our organization. My best to you all as we carry on celebrating our 20th anniversary.
