My experience filming in Smithers was amazing from Disney's Eight Below
in 2008 and Nelix's
The Mother in 2022, each with crew counts more than
450. The community gets behind filming projects, and you just can't beat the
amazingly accessible top-of-the-world looks the Smithers area has to offer.
Along with the support from vendors in the area, from trailer offices,
lunchrooms, to road maintenance (through Vihar Construction), snow removal
and support equipment.
The mayor and city council went above and beyond puing together a
directory for the cast and crew needs, along with coordinating with
local businesses to alter their operating hours to suit our hours.
Additionally, support and accommodations for the crew were
fantastic.
