In contrast, Nilo's River Adventure has clean white ships, plenty of advertising cash and all the trappings of a successful business. Inside the offi ce, Nilo's desk area was fi tted out with River Adventure fl yers, custom stationery and billheads featuring his pet parrot. Nilo did not have a last name in the script, so when it came to putting his name on the door, I knew that just using a fi rst name wouldn't cut it. I looked across the room to where concept illustrator Luca Nemolato was working and thought, "Nilo Nemolato has a nice ring to it." It was approved by production and hand-painted on his door. Given Nilo's many diff erent business interests in Porto Velho, I decide to just use "Entrepreneur" as a title. Another Nilo business was the local tavern. Set dec requested some large posters to add 'history' to the set, so I designed fi ve pieces of advertising that he had commissioned in the past. I was able to use a key frame drawing by illustrator Victor Martinez in some of the pieces and stock images to fi ll in the rest.
