Surf City goes to the Dogs with the Second Annual Surf City Surf Dog September 19 When you think about surfing, the doggie paddle is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. With that said, Surf City California in Huntington Beach is gearing up for a great day of pups and peaks with a one-of-a-kind surf experience on September 19th. This event features dogs and dunes of all shapes and sizes and ends up being more of a beach party experience than just another competition. Dogs and their owners will be able to "hang 20" in a variety of surfing competitions and strut their stuff in a variety of canine inspired activities and contests, all while raising funds for animal welfare organizations. Festivities are set to kick off at 8 a.m. The Long Beach Museum of Art and its Fundraising Affiliate, Phoenix, invite you to join them as they celebrate 60 years of collecting and exhibiting art on Saturday, September 25, 2010. This event will include tapas dining, a hosted bar, access to the Celebrating Sixty exhibitions, dancing and a live musical performance by Magical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to The Beatles. 60's attire is preferred. If you didn't already know that oil pumps through the veins of Long Beach and it has a Hemi engine for a heart you soon will. Between the annual Grand Prix of Long Beach and the multitude of car shows and expos it's no surprise that gear-heads have been flocking to the area for years. With that said there is one car show that offers something new. A blast from the past, The Belmont Car Show. It will run from 6-10 p.m. $175.00 per person. The Long Beach Museum of Art is a 501©3 organization. $125 of each ticket purchased is tax deductible. The Celebrating 60 Anniversary Bash will feature groovy activity booths for guests to enjoy, including fortune telling, photo booths and cigar rolling. Reserve your groovy tickets online now: Anniversary Bash Reservation or call 562.439.2119 The show is held on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore and draws about 700 vehicles and boasts a huge number of street vendors selling automotive related goods, in addition to the huge spectator crowd, which is set to kick off a huge amount of excitement and energy. The show will take place on September 12th and is open to all 1975 and earlier vehicles. There is a Pre-registration fee of $25 or $30 on the day of the event. All cars must be parked no later than 9 a.m. by order of LBPD. For more information call 714.827.4725 or email Jerry@gtsrdoc@aol.com.
