A Who's Who list of past performers at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts includes Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Clint Black, The Chieftains, Kathleen Battle, the Dance Theater of Harlem and Royal Shakespeare Company. The 2010-11 season promises to be another busy season but an online schedule found on their website will allow you to plan ahead of time. Led by David Emmes and Martin Benson, what began as a troupe has evolved into so much more, which was highlighted in 2002, with the opening of the Folino Theatre Center. For the 2010-11 season, the South Coast Repertory will be busier than ever with a schedule that includes Misalliance, Becky Shaw, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Three Days of Rain, In the Next Room or the vibrator play, Circle Mirror Transformation and The Weir. In addition to presenting dramatic, comedy and musical productions, the Huntington Beach Playhouse is open to anybody willing to advance their stagecraft or technical skills. Due to the many productions scheduled each year, volunteers are always in demand to help support the theater and provide scholarships to students in the dramatic arts. The 2010 season wraps up with performances of Picasso at the Lapin Agile and It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, while the 2011 season kicks off with Oliver! and Run for Your Wife.
