once-happy academic family's home, a fortress and a now long abandoned space turned into a lab with the aim of keeping Ghost from fading out of existence. The exterior location was an amazing find; a very strange place built by a former owner of a concrete company and long since sold and left to slowly decay. The interior was a stage set that mimics the exterior pebbled and combed concrete, using carved foam and plaster work that involved throwing thousands of pounds of gravel into the wet plaster to achieve the same look. The interior features a large window wall that was built on the ground as one massive piece, using solid wood beams shipped in from Idaho and a custom storefront window system that was hung very carefully in place before being anchored to the ground. Weighing thousands of pounds, this was no small feat. Another challenge was the Ghost chamber, which due to scheduling, needed to be lifted in and out of the set multiple times. A complex rig was built that allowed the piece to fly in and out through the open ceiling. Each time, the custom poured fresnel lenses and glass pieces had to be removed and then reinstalled. This is the first time the unique chamber, built by Foster to help contain Ghost and keep her from phasing out of existence and into the quantum realm, is seen. The chamber was designed around the idea that light is a painful but critical component required to keep Ghost in some sort of physiological equilibrium. SONNY BURCH: Sonny Burch is a small-time criminal and huge opportunist who fancies himself a connoisseur of all fine things. His large ego and opulent tastes led me to design this character's world with rich metallics, glossy surfaces, polished stone and a flair for the dramatic. From Sonny's shiny white monogrammed Cadillac with gold trim to his crystal chandelier adorned restaurant, to even the kitchen space, all glitter purposefully to make an impression. His restaurant and kitchen are the backdrop for a rowdy meet and greet where Sonny Burch flexes his interests and baits Wasp into her debut ass-kicking in a grand restaurant space. The restaurant was in fact, an elegant and southern-inspired empty ballroom, which was transformed into a four-star restaurant where Sonny Burch can hold center court A.
