Summer 2016 The Costume Designer 35 CD Marylou Lim just wrapped second season for Documentary Now! on IFC. Actors Bill Hader and Fred Armisen were more than willing to try any costume she threw at them. During a 13-day shoot, Lim and team costumed more than 800 changes, everything from biblical times to the 2000s. Directed by Rhys Thomas and Alex Buono, Lim says it was truly a feat but could not have been done without her hard-working crew. CD Kimberly Adams just wrapped TV movie Killing Reagan for National Geographic in 'hot-lanta,' starring Tim Mattheson as Ronald Reagan, Cynthia Nixon as Nancy, and Kyle S. More as the troubled John Hinckley. The film covers the time period from Reagan's 1980 presidential campaign through Hinckley shooting him less than 100 days into office in an effort to impress actress Jodie Foster. Directed by Rod Lurie, it will air in October to coincide with the current campaign. CD Jenni Gullett is prepping the feature film Live Like Line, about a dispirited girls' volleyball team trying to win a state cham- pionship without their star player. Directed by Sean McNamara and starring Helen Hunt, William Hurt, and Erin Moriarty, shooting starts August 2 in Vancouver. In their third collaboration to date, CD Mona May and Drew Barry- more are happily teaming up again for Netflix comedy series Santa Clarita Diet. Shooting in Los Angeles, the show is produced by Drew's company Flower Films, along with Netflix, and will air in January 2017. Set in 1892 and shooting in Santa Fe, NM, CD Jenny Eagan is work- ing with ACD Jessica Albertson on Hostiles. With Scott Cooper directing, it stars Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in a story of a legendary Army captain who reluctantly agrees to escort a Chey- enne chief and his family across dangerous territory. CD Luis Sequeira says he has learned 1,001 ways to deal with cos- tumes and water on his third project with the charismatic writer/ director Guillermo del Toro. Sequeira is currently in Toronto de- signing the period feature The Shape of Water for Fox Searchlight Productions. Set in 1963 Cold War America, this other-worldly story stars Michael Shannon, Michael Stuhlbarg, Octavia Spencer, Richard Jenkins, and Sally Hawkins. Pepsi campaign's Momotaro series CD Ami Goodheart and ACD Kumie Asai recently wrapped the fifth spot of the Pepsi campaign's Momotaro series. The epic, four- minute fantasy commercials were previously shot in Chile, Italy, and Japan before landing back in California. Jude Law stars in this retelling of the Japanese folktale Peach Boy. The story recounts the rise and fall of a peaceful, monk-turned-gladiator-turned-magical- warrior, who ultimately transforms into a 300-foot-tall volcanic lava- spewing demon. Goodheart collaborated with production designer Stephan Scott, creating custom-dyed fabrics, hand-spun yarns, and hand-painted textiles. Original costumes were designed and fabri- cated for 13 principals and more than 120 extras playing villagers from an imaginary world.
