people JOSH ROBINSON Rushes in London has appointed Josh Robinson producer. He comes to the studio from Grey Lon- don, where he worked as a producer on projects for brands such as P&G,Toshiba and Dairy Crest. ROBINSON MIGUEL FERROS Assimilate in Santa Clara, CA, has appointed Miguel Ferros director of product management. The company makes the Scratch data workflow and DI tool suite. Ferros’ career spans more than 20 years, having worked for Avid, Codex Digital, and 5D Solutions. As an editor, he was an early adopter of the NLE in the UK, and also gained ex- perience as a compositor before moving into technology development. BEARCE IAN BEARCE Ian Bearce has joined The Mill NY and is re- sponsible for growing the studio’s digital content development capabilities. He spent six years as head of production at Partizan Los Angeles, and more recently, a year as an executive producer at Minneapolis-based Runner Runner, Fischer Edit/VFX and Modern-Music. As head of produc- tion at Partizan, Bearce worked with numerous A- list directors. His credits include work for Axe, Nis- san, Nike and GE. ALEX FRISCH Alex Frisch has joined Imaginary Forces in Hollywood as a creative director/VFX supervisor. Frisch was formerly a VFX pro and managing direc- tor at Method Studios, a facility that he co-founded in 1998.There, he worked on high-end commer- cials, feature films and music videos. In 2009, Frisch left Method to set up a global network of highly- skilled VFX artists. He produced three projects using his new network, and in August began work- ing with Imaginary Forces on commercial projects. FRISCH ROY TAYLOR MasterImage 3D in Hollywood has named Roy Taylor executive vice president and general manager, 3D display.A former Nvidia VP, Taylor will work to drive adoption of the company’s auto-stereoscopic 3D displays and strengthen content partnerships across the mobile ecosys- tem. MasterImage 3D provides digital 3D sys- tems for theaters and commercialized a glasses-free 3D display for cell phones based on its cell matrix parallax barrier technology. Intravartolo comes from Prime Focus’ Post Logic facility, where he was a creative director, North America/senior Inferno artist.There, he worked on projects such as director Zack Snyder’s upcoming feature Sucker Punch, as well as the CSI and Law & Order fran- chises. Previously, he worked for Modern Video Film and The Post Group, creating VFX for Desper- ate Housewives and the miniseries John Adams. In addition to Inferno, Intravar tolo is proficient on Flame, Smoke and Avid systems. MARY ELLEN FARRAR Editorial house Beast has hired former advertis- ing agency producer Mary Ellen Farrar to oversee commercial editing and post work at its Austin,TX, location. Farrar has spent the past two decades working as a producer and was most re- cently on staff at the Seattle offices of Publicis. There, she worked on spots for Washington’s Lot- tery, Dish Network, Citi and T-Mobile. FARRAR BRENT JONES, KEVIN WARD, MARC LASKO Original Film in LAhas added directors Brent Jones and Kevin Ward to its team. Jones is known for his skills in comedy/dialogue/action, while Ward is a specialist in auto/action projects. Jones’ reel includes spots for BMW, McDonald’s, Bridgestone, and DirecTV.Ward began his career as a stuntman/stunt driver, which led him into commercial filmmaking, with a focus on auto/ac- tion spots. Additionally, on the management side, Original has hired executive producer Marc Lasko, who has already brought in a new ad for Kia, out of Moscow-based agency Innocean. DREW BOURNEUF Creative concept studio Solid in LA has added Drew Bourneuf as executive producer. He brings 15 years of experience in commercial and broadcast media production, design, animation and VFX. Bourneuf has held positions at Digital Kitchen and Salt, and has worked on projects for AT&T, Mi- crosoft, HP, Xbox, Nike and Subaru. He also cre- ated the main titles for the Fox series House.
