people DOMINIQUE ANZANO Editorial house Beast in Santa Monica has hired Dominique Anzano as senior producer. She comes to the studio from agency Deutsch LA, where she was a broadcast producer, responsible for managing projects for Volkswagen, DirecTV, Sony PlayStation, Saturn and TGI Friday’s, among others. Prior to her six years at Deutsch, Anzano was a broadcast producer at Ogilvy & Mather LA. She also spent four years at D’Arcy (DMB&B) LA as an associate producer, and at Gerber Pictures. ANZANO CARI MERRYMAN Crash + Sues in Minneapolis has added stop motion animator Cari Merryman to its team. Merryman graduated from the Minneapolis Col- lege of Art and Design in 2001 and served as a stop motion animation instructor for a semester. In ‘06 she earned her masters in animation and media arts at the University of the West of Eng- land. She then co-animated a short PSA funded by The Prince’s Trust to raise awareness of the emo- tional effect bullying has on disabled youths. She is skilled in Adobe tools, Dragon Stop Motion and the use of digital, 35mm and 120mm cameras. MERRYMAN LISA HOUCK Telecine boutique New Hat in Santa Monica has secured Lisa Houck of Salon to represent the company on the West Coast. New Hat recently contributed to projects for Verizon Droid, Halo, and Wheat Thins, as well as to music videos for Eminem, Kylie Minogue, and Brandon Flowers.The studio also has a new DI theater. HOUCK JENNY GARCIA Creative digital agency Hello Design in LA has added Jenny Garcia to its staff as account direc- tor. She brings nearly five years of agency experi- ence, having managed major automotive accounts at Saatchi,Y&R and Doner. She also worked on a hair care account at O’Leary & Partners. ROB POWERS NewTek, in San Antonio, has promoted Rob Powers to VP of 3D development, in charge of overseeing the design and development of the company’s 3D products. MARK UREDA Harman in Northridge, CA, has named Mark UredaVP/GM of the Harman Professional Loud- speaker Group, comprising JBL Professional and Selenium. He takes over from John Carpanini, who led JBL Professional and was promoted to a new position in Harman’s automotive division. Ureda, who has a background in acoustics and manage- ment, began his career with the Altec Lansing and has been a technical consultant to JBL Professional since 1999. He comes to Harman Professional from Northrop Grumman, a defense company. DUNN RYAN DUNN Ryan Dunn has joined the roster of creative de- sign studio Charlex in NYC, where he will serve as a director/CD. He brings over10 years experi- ence working on projects that involve motion de- sign, live-action and post elements. Prior to joining Charlex, Dunn spent four years directing with Vince Haycock at Chicago’s Vitamin Pictures. Dunn first collaborated with Charlex as a director in 2009 on a live-action spot for Verizon that com- bined greenscreen talent with miniature sets. MAZA VINCENT MAZA The Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) has named Avid’s worldwide marketing manager/post, Vincent Maza, to its board of directors. He has worked in the post industry for more than 15 years and has been a member of the HPA since 2008, when he assumed his current role with Avid. His areas of expertise include stereoscopic 3D, DI and file-based workflows. He began his career as an online editor with Paramount. Pictures. MATT TURNER Rushes in London has hired Matt Turner as di- rector of telecine. He previously worked as senior colorist at Company 3 in LA.There he contributed to many spots, including Super Bowl commercials for Bridgestone and Coke Zero.
