The X1500 system has an external 1.5TB LTO-5 tape drive that connects to a Windows 7 desktop or tower computer. XenData’s XenData6 software pro- vides easy-to-use archive, restore and tape management functionality, making archiving to and restoring from LTO tape as easy as drag- ging and dropping files and folders using Win- dows Explorer. The XenData X1500 offers support for converter and frame synchronizer con- verts VESA or CEA computer digital or analog input formats to SMPTE broadcast formats, and com- bines scaling perfor- mance with frame synchronization and flicker reduction. The VXL-100HD format converter of- fers up/down/cross conversion from SD to HD, HD to SD, and HD to HD with per-pixel motion adaptive process- ing. Realtime, per- pixel motion adap- tive temporal and film noise reduction are standard. 44 Cut Pro codecs are supported. For Avid Media Composer 5, the Avid DNx, DNxHD, and other Media Composer codecs are supported. An on-set workflow can be created by using an MXO2 and a Mac Pro equipped with a Ma- trox CompressHD H.264 encoding accelerator card. While recording XDCAM EX, P2 or Red footage, users can feed the output of their cam- era through the Matrox MXO2 and capture di- rectly into H.264 files using Matrox Max technol- ogy within the CompressHD card. Dailies would be immediately available as low bit-rate files. LTO-5 tape cartridges and fast file transfers. LTO-5 provides 1.5TB per tape, which repre- sents approximately 65 hours at DV50. The solution maintains the original folder structure and supports all file types, including non- video files. The system also supports an unlimited number of offline tapes, allowing studios to manage large offline LTO tape archives. Sonnox delivers audio plug-in collections O XFORD, UK— Audio plug-in developer Sonnox has introduced two plug-in collections geared toward the post and broadcast market. The Sonnox Post Collection (www.son- nexplugins.com) includes the Sonnox Restore suite, which features the DeClicker, DeBuzzer and DeNoiser plug-ins, along with Oxford EQ, Dynamics, Limiter, Reverb and the versatile Su- prEsser dynamic EQ. The collection is available at a 30 percent discounted price of $2,570 (TDM) and $1,835 (Native) through October 30. Sonnox Broadcast bundles the Oxford EQ and Dynamics plug-ins with the Limiter; the In- flator, for maximizing loudness; and the Oxford SuprEsser, for correcting problematic fre- quencies. Also offered at a 30 percent discount, Sonnox Broadcast is priced at $1,342 (TDM) and $685 (Native). The new 42-inch monitor uses a backlight comprised of red, green and blue LEDs that are modulated individu- ally on a frame-by- frame basis. The LCD panel is also modulated in real- time as part of the dual-modulation process. The PRM-4200 is capable of display- ing the dynamic range that the latest digital cinema cam- eras can capture. It provides the ability to perform cinema color grading with- out the use of a digital projector and offers color accu- racy across all lumi- nance levels. The flat panel PRM-4200 is designed for color-critical work, and Dolby claims that the unit offers accuracy previously available with CRT monitors.
