B M & T ••• January/February 2024 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com 23 This day and age the cost of travel, and LIVING for that matter, are at an all time high. Expenses for just the regu- lar everyday American to get through the year are absorbent. Some families have more resources than others and can still manage to muster up the funds to take the bunch on an exciting vacation. For other families vacations are non-existent or a great deal of financial creativity must be brought forth to allow such luxuries. Many U.S. destinations have made their cities available to accommodate conferences and other large-scale events, but they have ALSO put a great deal of effort in providing fam- ily friendly and family fun environments. This allows confer- ence attendees to bring their loved ones along with them on business trips and while they work or after they work there are plenty of exciting activities and experiences the dele- gates' clan can indulge in. Some destinations are home to entertainment meccas of the United States. From Disneyland in California to The Civil Rights Trail in numerous southern destinations to kid friendly tours in Boston, it shouldn't be hard finding the per- fect location to hold your event and please the whole family at the same time. Here are some U.S. destinations ready to host your next meeting and also entertain the family. TAKING THE FAMILY, TRAVEL FOR BUSINESS AND PLEASURE BY SOLOMON J. HERBERT II
