E r i n M i c h a e l R e t t i g C A S Introduction In the Winter 2024 CAS Quarterly, I shared research and findings that were presented as part of my dissertation during the pursuit of my doctor of education at the University of Southern California. The research focused on needs and considerations for mitigating technology obsolescence relative to score mixing—a topic I am very familiar with through my professional position. Specifically, the study looked to learn more about stakeholders' perceptions regarding analog audio, digital audio, audio quality, workflow flexibility, and how a studio might balance these elements to remain viable as a creative and business enterprise. Fifteen interview subjects participated in the study and were selected due to the extensive knowledge they had of the context of the study. Photo by Joshua J. Krause
