My Journey
with the CAS
As the 60th anniversary of the
Cinema Audio Society is underway
this year, I want to, as your self-
proclaimed "CAS Historian," provide
a little background on our beloved
organization through my personal
journey. I have been working with and
for the Cinema Audio Society for 48
years, since 1975! I have served as
CAS President twice, Vice President
twice, multiple terms on the Board
of Directors, and have acted as the
organization's historian for quite
some time now. I'm sorry to say, I'm
retiring. As you read on, you will hear
about my journey into sound, will
discover how the CAS got its start,
has risen from the ashes—twice—and
how the organization has evolved into
a powerhouse in our industry.
