The call comes in and the job is materializing before your eyes. You're hitting
the road, leaving home, and going over the horizon to record sound. If you've
ever had that call—or wished for it—then the inevitable next question you ask
yourself is, "What do I need to do to get ready and how do I pull this off?" I
had the pleasure of speaking with four production sound mixers who travel
regularly to find out how they do it, what they do to prepare, and, overall, what
their experiences have taught them about traveling for work in the film/
television industry.
