PRODUCTION MUSIC & SFX www.postmagazine.com 24 POST MAY/JUNE 2023 THATTRACK'S 'WITH PURPOSE' CAMPAIGN TARGETS SOCIAL ISSUES LOS ANGELES — ThatTrack (www.thattrack.com) has launched a new collection of music that speaks directly to social issues. The 'With Purpose' collection is designed for content creators who use their platforms to share and speak out on certain political, societal or cultural topics. Whether discussing race, sexuality, gender, equality, reproductive rights or the environment, With Purpose features powerful songs that can elevate content or further communicate a cre- ator's position with a commercial edge. ThatTrack is using its AI-powered search engine — One- Click Searches — and curated playlists to help content creators find the right track to fit their project. This way of discovering music is designed for the growing group of people who aren't music supervisors, yet still want to find professional music for their content. ThatTrack has over 30,000 tracks available and will continue to release high-quality new mu- sic, including music by With Purpose artists, on the platform. "Some creators scour other platforms for music to speak to societally relevant themes, but they haven't had a clear route for discovery until ThatTrack," says CMO, James Clarke. "With Purpose artists have a home on our platform and can speak to the experience of people who care about these topics. They've poured their heart and soul into their music, and are ready to share it with the world." With Purpose artists release music that directly comments on cultural issues. ThatTrack and With Purpose don't limit artist perspectives, and music can be shared representing any view- point, as long as it is respectful. Some of the featured With Purpose artists include Lone Wolfe, Tinamina and Noah Nevarez. Lone Wolfe tackles issues of artist exploitation and stereotypes. Tinamina has released two songs that encourage society to come together and promote unity, inclusivity and equality. Noah Nevarez's "Break The System" encourages listeners to be politically active and vote for change, while "Hell (We're Already Here)" is about LGBTQAI+ rights and drag queens on TV. AMERICAN IDOL'S SARA BETH SIGNS WITH DA MUSIC LOS ANGELES — DA Music (damu- siclibrary.com), the independent artists' music licensing boutique, has signed Sara Beth to a music licensing agreement on the heels of her depar- ture from Season 21 of American Idol. DA Music staff producer Fernando Perdomo worked with the singer to create a unique cover of Elton John's "Benny and the Jets" for the compa- ny's "Quintessential Hits" catalog. "In a show with a lot of people following trends and not really being themselves, Sara Beth is a breath of fresh air because she was herself, she owned it, and she sang to the song," says Perdomo, who connected with her through Instagram. "I've been getting a lot of opportunities since American Idol, but am selec- tive about what I say yes to," says Sara Beth. "When Fernando reached out to me, saying he wanted to produce 'Benny and the Jets,' and sent me a track, I loved it and agreed!" Sara Beth and Perdomo recorded the Billy Joel cover at his Stairway Studios. "He and (DA Music founder) Deborah (Alexander) are amazing to work with, and I am so excited to be recording with Fernando and contributing more tracks for DA Music," Sara Beth concludes.
