Attendees started the evening with a cocktail reception, courtesy of Dolby, followed by a seated dinner. The show opened with an exciting montage of the year's episodic- and feature-nominated shows and dedication reel recognizing our generous sponsors. Ben Gleib, standup comedian, actor, television game show host, and executive producer, greeted the audience, reminding us of our craft's importance and visceral nature. "No directors ever play with bad sound… Stylistically, I wanted to not really get the audio," he mocked. Jesting, Ben explains, "I think the phrase should be 'lights, camera, the sound is very important too, action!'" The awards ceremony commenced by announcing winners throughout the evening in seven categories celebrating outstanding sound mixing; Motion Pictures – Live Action, Motion Pictures – Animated, Motion Pictures – Documentary, Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series, Television Series BY KAROL URBAN CAS MPSE 59TH ANNUAL CAS AWARDS Incoming CAS President Peter J.
