www.postmagazine.com 32 POST MAY/JUNE 2022 JEFF HIPOLITO, JIMMY SMITH Alkemy X in New York City continues to expand its visual effects team with the recent additions of head of IT, VFX, Jeff Hipoli o (top), and VFX compositor, Jimmy Smith (bottom). The hires build on Alkemy X's dramatic growth in Los Angeles, along with recent expansions to Singapore, Vancouver and Toronto. Hipolito has more than two decades of IT and VFX experience. He has worked at a number of studios, spearheading the IT needs of the fast-paced post world. Smith got his start as an editing intern at Troma Entertainment, and is now skilled in managing, editing and compositing. His recent credits include work on the Netflix documentary series Colin in Black & White and the Fox procedural drama 9-1-1. JUSTIN SKERPAN Animated design studio Atkpln in Dallas has promot- ed producer Justin Skerpan to senior producer. He joined Reel FX's commercial division as a production assistant in 2014, and was soon managing the divi- sion's CG department. After four years with Reel FX's commercial divi- sion, Skerpan shifted with the rebrand in 2018 to join Atkpln. He keeps things running on projects of all scopes, including those for clients such as Mercedes, Paramount, PepsiCo and Oncor. CAM ANDERSON Toronto's Outsider Editorial has added editor Cam Anderson to its roster. He represents the third addi- tion to the editorial boutique's roster since it opened in 2018. Anderson joined Outsider after departing Cossette as in-house editor at Soda Post. As senior assistant editor, he rose through the ranks fast, thanks to his work ethic, charm and energy. One of his noteworthy credits is work for Sinai Health's fir t-ever campaign, "See What Care Can Do." Directed by Goh Iromoto, the films captu e the emotional stories of several patients who have relied on the hospital network's services. DANIEL LANG, BRYAN BIGLER Wylie Co. in Culver City, CA, recently welcomed Daniel Lang (top) back as full-time staff ompositor, as well as added Unreal Engine artist Bryan Bigler (bottom). Lang has been a Nuke compositor for over 10 years, but has been creating visual effects since he was a teenager. He got his start working with Maxon's Cinema 4D and later learned Adobe After Effects, de- veloping his skills while working on his own projects until he started working for The Mill in 2010. He was hired as a compositor shortly after and learned Nuke, working at the studio up until 2019, when he took a job at Wylie Co. on Terminator: Dark Fate. Bigler has been working professionally since 2011, creating music videos, YouTube content, commer- cials and features while embracing a software-junkie mentality. He eventually crossed paths with Wylie Co. founder Jake Maymudes and Wylie VFX on a Walmart/Xbox commercial, where he served as creative director and editor. Bigler discovered a love for Unreal Engine and realtime compositing, which led him to virtual production. JESSICA FARMER Wild Manor in Boulder, CO, has added editor Jessica Farmer to its team. Formerly with The Now Corporation, she brings a credit list that includes work for Vrbo, Infiniti, Ralph Lau en, American Airlines and Fruit of the Loom, and won an Anthem Award for her work with the World Surf League. Farmer moved to New York City after graduat- ing from Northeastern University and American University of Paris in 2011. She quickly began cutting spots for agencies like Mother and NBC, and was awarded a One Show Gold, an AICP Next Award and a Clio for her work with CP+B. She later took her work on the road, touring with Davines, where she cut live music performances across the country. She was introduced to Wild Manor through her travels and many pit stops in Boulder. TONY ROBINS Tony Robins has joined Harbor in New York City as managing director, advertising, bringing with him experience in VFX that spans 30 years. Robins joins the studio from The Mill's New York office, where he spent 14 years as an artist and creative leader, rising from head of 2D to director of operations and then to managing director. Some of his career highlights include award-win- ning spots such as Nike's Michael Jordan-Bugs Bunny, Geico's Hump Day Camel and Bud Light's Game of Thrones Superbowl campaign. He has also worked with major brands that include Samsung, Ford, Mercedes, Porsche, Cadillac, AT&T, Jeep, Aflac, Du acell and Liberty Mutual. Robins was hired to start Spontaneous Combustion as ECD, which, under his guidance, grew considerably in two years. He then freelanced for more than fi e years, working with studios that include Charlex, The Mill and MTV. BEN McCAMBRIDGE Uppercut, the editorial, finishing and VFX tudio, has added editor Ben McCambridge to its growing Los Angeles team. McCambridge has nearly two decades of experience and has worked across commercial and branded content for global brands. He edited Create Your Way for Andis, the barbering and styling tools company, as well as Lyft's It All Started With A Bike, which illustrates the company's partnership with Lebron James and Uninterrupted to provide bikeshare access to teenagers across the country. Also counted amongst McCambridge's best work is the powerful Veterans for Gun Reform, an over-the-top comedy-meets-action spot for Jack In The Box. Other clients include Halo Top, Facebook, Starbucks, Dockers, Vice and Smirnoff. CAMI STARKMAN The Den, the women-owned, bi-coastal editorial house, recently welcomed Cami Starkman to their roster of editors. A native of Los Angeles, Starkman's work is vivid and versatile, spanning commercials, documentaries, music videos, feature films and n - merous shorts. A graduate of AFI's MFA film editing p ogram, Starkman edited the Emmy Award-winning documentary Tending The Wild, as well as an Emmy-nominated spot for KCET's Artbound series highlighting MOCA. In addition to editing three feature films and nume ous shorts, she has cut music videos for Katy Perry, Solange, Eminem, Nick Jonas, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. On the commercial side, her credits include work for Savage x Fenty with Rihanna, HBO, Valentino, Balmain, Olay, Lyft, Alaska Airlines, Vogue and Stella McCartney. PEOPLE
