As June comes into full swing the Day of Dads is slowly approaching. This year instead of lumping Dads in with the Grads as far as celebrating goes, we will be giving our Pops what he deserves--his very own, complete Father's Day Guide. LIVE has provided a fool proof plan to ensure that your Dad has a great Father's Day with a list of a few Do's and Don'ts, some activity ideas and even a few "Dadgets" that will be sure to please even the most cynical Padres. Let's start with the "Dadget" guide. This list of cool and interesting knick-knacks will make certain that you don't end up buying him another ugly necktie at the last minute. This year's featured Father's Day Idea focuses on "kickin it old school". Take him to the only original, period- correct 1940's style shop that specializes in the hot towel, straight razor shaves and the high and tight haircut--Hawleywood's Barber Shop. Spend the day bonding with your Pops as you receive the cleanest haircut in Southern California while relaxing in a true man's sanctuary. Each clean cut and close shave is served up with an ice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon and is sure to be a one of a kind experience. Head on down to one of their locations at either 1806 Newport Blvd-Costa Mesa 92627, 2234 4th St-Long Beach 90814, or their newest location in Huntington Beach at 410 Main St-Huntington Beach 92648. • Use Mom to find out what he really likes. • Give gifts that are genuinely thoughtful and meaningful coming from you. • Not get him a necktie. • Feel free to make him a thoughtful and creative gift. • Take him out for a nice steak dinner. • Take him to a baseball game or other sports event. • Make plans for a nice barbecue at the beach or at a park. • Use Mom for ideas if she can't keep a secret. • Get sentimental gifts. Dads are manly for a reason so no teddy bears or chocolates. • Get him a necktie. • Make him a gift if you are old enough to drive. • Take him for brunch. That's a Mom thing. • Take him to the ballet. Unless he needs to catch up on sleep. • Forget to check the weather if you are planning to barbecue.
