New Cintel scanning and restoration tools H Lauren Lung was named VP/GM of Kodak’s (www. kodak.com) entertainment imaging division in North and South America. She had been VP of corporate business development and marketing operations and assumes the responsibilities formerly held by Peter Boyce, who is now GM for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Before Kodak, Lung spent 18 years at HP. ERTFORDSHIRE, UK — Cintel International (www.cintel.co. uk) was at NAB with three new film scanning and image restoration products. Ditto Evolution is an upgradeable film scanner that can instantly switch from pin-registration to non-pin registration. It also includes film grain management and image stabi- lization tools. Cintel says the unit is well suited for digital intermediate work and for restoration projects. Cintel’s ImageMill2 is a new image processing platform that adds network capabilities and data file management to the existing Im- ageMill.The unit features the Grace noise and film grain management tool and the Steady realtime image stabilization application. Cintel will also offer Origin, a new dust/scratch concealment option. Im- ageMill2 offers speeds in excess of 25fps for 2K and HD files, and can process 4K files at 10fps. Standard definition material can be processed at twice realtime. Also shown at NAB was a new Millennium DataMill (pictured) workflow using the Yoyo system from Yoyotta. Film can be scanned to HD data in realtime with the Yoyo system controlling both the film scanner and an ImageMill processing engine. www.postmagazine.com May 2010 • Post 7
