P E O P L E YUKO KOSEKI Company X in New York City has signed editor Yuko Koseki for exclusive representation. Koseki has experience editing commercials,music videos, TV shows and documentaries.The signing reunites her with Company X founder Barney Miller, as the two previously worked together at Ohio Edit (now known as Rock Paper Scissors NY). Koseki fine tuned her Avid editing skills at Michael Moore’s TV Nation. She later entered the com- mercial editing sector at Moondog Edit (formerly Billy Williams), before joining Ohio Edit in 2000. KOSEKI GORDON CAREY Editorial boutique Butcher in Santa Monica has signed editor Gordon Carey. Formerly with Filmcore/Beast, Carey is known for his comedy-di- alogue editing style, which is showcased in ESPN’s The Kid and EDS’s Cat Herders. Carey’s first assign- ments under the Butcher banner include a Round Table Pizza ad out of Y&R, San Francisco, and a package of spots for Toyota out of Saatchi, LA. CAREY ARIEL QUINTANS, JIM REED Austin,TX, editorial studio Beast has expanded with the hiring of senior editor Ariel Quintans and Smoke artist Jim Reed. Quintans has been an editor in Austin for over 12 years and has de- veloped a reputation for his storytelling skills. In addition to commercial and music video work, Quintans was lead editor on Rollergirls, a 13- episode reality series for A&E. He was also the su- pervising editor for four seasons of the documen- tary series Downtown. Reed has over 30 years of experience and joins Beast from 501 Post, where as senior editor and post supervisor he worked on feature film such as Sin City and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. He also has a long list of commercial credits for brands that include AT&T,BMW, Burger King and Land Rover. QUINTANS VICTOR NEWMAN Creative studio Bionic in NYC has added Victor Newman as creative director. He brings with him 20 years of experience in design, branding and pro- motion.He comes to Bionic from Freestyle Collec- tive, the studio he co-founded in 2001. ALEX BICKEL Santa Monica’s Company 3 has added colorist Alex Bickel to its creative team. He comes to the studio from New York City’s Outside Editorial, where as senior colorist he also served as head of the color department. Prior to Outside Editorial, Bickel was a colorist at Rogue Post, working on projects for A&E, Bravo and MTV. Before Rogue, he was an editor and colorist for the on-air pro- mos department at the Sundance Channel. MICHAEL HACKETT Santa Monica-based Chrome has hired editor Michael Hackett, a 15-year veteran of the com- mercial editorial world who also has a vast knowl- edge of VFX. Hackett brings with him a strong back- ground in photography and experience in setting up file-based workflows. Prior to joining Chrome, Hackett worked with Filmcore LA, Brass Knuckles, Avenue Edit, Crush Editorial and T-minus 30. HACKETT DARREN JAFFE, CLARISSA DONLEVY Hollywood’s Trailer Park has added to its mo- tion graphics roster with the additions of Darren Jaffe and Clarissa Donlevy.Together, they will head up Trailer Park’s motion graphics group, which serves all of the agency’s divisions and includes mo- tion design services for brands, theatrical,TV, gam- ing and other creative needs. Jaffe had been head of production at LA’s Brand New School. He will serve as director of motion graphics. Donlevy comes to Trailer Park from Prologue Films and will serve as creative director, motion graphics. JAFFE ADAM WELSH Amsterdam-based Marvin Technologies, which develops simplified and reliable data work- flows for digital cinematography, has named Adam Welsh GM.Welsh began his career test- ing film scanning systems from Cintel. He later got involved in business development, becoming sales director of Cintel, and ultimately managing director.
