Previously with Santa Monica’s Ascent Media, he brings more than 20 years of experience in the film industry to this new role, including executive positions with Riot, Digital Domain and Rhythm and Hues. at a glance... WEE BEASTIE (www.weebeastie.tv) in NYC has added Travis Blain to its roster as art director. He was previously a freelancer, working with many of New York’s top production houses. Blain got his star t at the Charlotte-based design shop Snap5, working on projects for Speed Channel and NASCAR. He later worked for Signal, developing his animation and design skills on work for ESPN, Fox, Speed Channel and Voom Networks. The MAMMOTH HD FOOTAGE LIBRARY (www.mammothhd- 3d.com) has launched a 3D stereoscopic library that includes under- water, wildlife and scenic footage. The MammothHD 3D Stock Footage Library’s footage was shot in HD 1080 and Red. Delivery options include HD, 2K and 4K — dual-stream (individual right/left eye), single integrated files for side-by-side, over/under, interlaced, checkerboard, and all flavors of anaglyph. Footage is available in the Cineform Codec (Cineform Neo3D) and in other production QuickTime codecs.The MammothHD 3D Library has online pre- views available in both anaglyph and side-by-side formats in H.264. KODAK (www.kodak.com) has introduced a new color reversal film available in the Super 8mm format. Ektachrome 100D Color Reversal Film 7285 is a daylight-balanced, 100-speed film incorporating bright, saturated colors and fine grain with impressive sharpness.The com- pany sees Super 8mm as a versatile and affordable option for film- makers who require the quality and flexibility of film. LA-based VFX house METHOD STUDIOS (www.methodstudios. com) has added to its feature film VFX talent with the recent hiring of Dan Glass, Drew Jones and Stephane Ceretti. Glass, now senior cre- ative director, will oversee both feature and commercial projects. He was most recently senior VFX supervisor on Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. Jones will lead film projects globally as Method’s VP of fea- ture films. He joins Method from MPC, where was executive pro- ducer. Prior to MPC, Jones spent over 11 years as executive producer at Framestore-CFC. Ceretti will serve as VFX supervisor for feature projects in the UK,working out of Ascent Media’s London facility, As- cent 142. Prior to joining Method, he was VFX supervisor at MPC in London.
