36 P E R S P E C T I V E | N OV E M B E R / D E C E M B E R 2 0 1 7 Originally from Harbin, China, artist Xi Yang has turned her focus to Production Design. She has a BFA in digital media art, an MFA in filmmaking and a second MFA in Production Design at the American Film Institute. Yang has designed and art-directed multiple short films, as well as a feature film. Her distinct visual style has been showcased in books and magazines, as well as film festivals around the world. Recently, Xi was recognized at the 2016 American Movie Awards in the category of Production Design/Art Originally from Shanghai, China, Yihong Ding came to Los Angeles to pursue an MFA for a Production Designer at the American Film Institute Conservatory. Yihong is based in Los Angeles and has been working in film and TV for the last three years. She went back to China last year and worked on a feature as the assistant Art Director and the Production Designer's interpreter in Beijing. She was recently accepted into the 2017 ADG Apprentice Program, and she is enthusiastically looking forward to future collaborations and share her talent, experience, creativity and passion.
