30 ADVOCATE | SPRING 2016 Association Governance Dorothy Green As the CEA PAC Chairperson and regular participant in regional trainings and events, I work hard to lead Creighton Education Association's collaboration with other AEA locals. Together, we are building relationships with powerful advocates and partners such as Valley Interfaith Project, Center for Neighborhood Leadership and the Latino Outreach Cadre. Cesar Cota I am an organized, responsible leader ready to serve. I am a leader who is determined, strong and willing to do what it takes to make our voice to be heard. I was part of the ESP Organizing Task Force and am an advocate for the Cartwright Education Association. David Hernandez III My peers know that I lead through involvement and action. I support my local, AEA and NEA. AEA through membership, advocacy and political action. I have participated at local, Regional, and AEA meetings as I continue my professional growth. It would be an honor to be your representative to NEA. Election District J Adrienne Henderson-Cole Adrienne Henderson-Cole, a classroom teacher in the Liberty District, National Board Certified Teacher and Arizona Master Teacher has taught and trained throughout the US for more than 20 years. As an AEA member she works to support teachers and most importantly the students that our work impacts. Election District K Derek Born I want to feel the electric energy of 8,000 delegates in the world's largest deliberative body doing our damnedest for students and teachers of America. I've been the Flagstaff EA president 4 years, a Region 11 Director and Alternate for 3, and have never attended NEA-RA. Give me the chance, please? Election District L Nicole Cozad As the director for Region 13 on the AEA Board of Directors, it has been my honor to represent you and give you all a voice at the state level. I now ask that you allow me the privilege of representing you at the national level as well. Election District M Dan Ireland I've worked hard to ensure educators are treated fairly, and retain high standards. I have advocated for members. I want to enhance our schools, by bringing professional development and tools to improve our practice, and protect our members by encouraging sound policy for our trade, our state and nation. Emily Freed Each year that I have taught, I have had the honor of representing you at the AEA Delegate Assembly, the NEA Representative Assembly, and as an Association Representative. I want to continue working at all levels of our Association. Please help me, by voting for Emily Freed! Thank you. Jason Freed I am a teacher, a leader and an Association advocate. I have been elected as President of TEA, your NEA Board Representative, and as a delegate to the AEA Delegate Assembly and NEA Representative Assembly for each of my 16 years in teaching. Please vote for Jason Freed. James Sheldon I first joined NEA in 2005, and been extensively involved in organizing substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, charter school teachers, LGBT teachers, and future teachers on college campuses. I hope to bring this breadth of experience to the RA in order to make sure that the diversity within AEA is fully represented. Christy Sainz I would love the opportunity to represent our members at the NEA-RA this July. I have been an AEA / Tucson EA member for 13 years; serving on the EMC Task Force, current EMC Vice Chairs, Latino Outreach Cadre, and presently on the Tucson EA BOD. Thanks for your support. Margaret Chaney I believe in taking action which is why I have proudly served as rep and local Board of Directors member for the past 4 years. My experience has included serving on numerous committees & am proud graduate of the first TLI cadre. Making a difference is what I strive for! Election District N Eboney McKinney Hello Region N! My name is Eboney McKinney and I am running for the Region N delegate position. I am the currently Region 12 director and President of Sierra Vista Classroom Teachers Association and member of the eSWAG advisory Board. It would be an honor to represent our region on the RA floor! Danielle Brown Your vote to NEA RA 2016 would be appreciated; allowing me to ensure our collective voice is heard. I have experience with policy at the local, state, & national level, as a local VP, Alternate State Director, & as a policy fellow with a national nonpartisan/nonprofit group. Thank You!
