ANNOUNCEMENTS WEA Constitutional Amendments Vote to be Conducted Online Sept. 30-Oct. 4 The Wyoming Education Association will be conducting an online vote on constitutional amendments during the week of September 30th-October 4th. In response to a directive from the WEA Delegate Assembly to explore ways to streamline our election processes, WEA will conduct the constitutional amendment vote utilizing online technologies. WEA has contracted with Votenet Technologies, a company widely used by other NEA affiliates, to facilitate the election. All WEA members in good standing will receive a letter in the mail one week prior to the election. Each member for whom WEA has a current and valid e-mail address will also receive an e-mail immediately prior to the election. Included with these communications will be specific log-in information for this election. The system will ask you to enter your User Name and Activation Code (included in your communication); it will then ask you to create and confirm an 8-digit Password. Lastly it will ask you to log in using your User Name and Password.  This three-step process keeps your vote secret and safe.  No one has access to your password.   Note: the online ballot can be accessed from any smartphone or device that has full browser capabilities. All of your choices are held in a secure database and are completely secret. No one has access to the choices you made. The system will give you a confirmation number. This number is proof to you that your vote has been successfully transmitted to Votenet's secure database. Constitutional Amendment Questions: Last April, the WEA Delegate Assembly voted to conduct an election by the members to consider changing the terms of office of the President, Vice President and Treasurer from the current two-year terms (maximum three terms) to three-year terms (maximum two terms). A second constitutional amendment proposes to simply clean up language in the Constitution. The exact language of the amendments can be found on the online ballot.
