The Art Directors Guild and San Diego Comic-Con are a perfect match. The entire convention hall is fi lled with art, images, and products directly created or infl uenced by the worlds our members bring into existence. This year, the Art Directors Guild's presence at SDCC included the debut of a new custom-built trade show booth which prominently featured artwork from members and the ADG logo with the IATSE Local 800 bug. This was to not only promote the work done by ADG members, but also show that we are a part of the entertainment union as well. During the event, ADG members engaged in hundreds of conversations about the Art Directors Guild, the IATSE, and the entertainment industry. A highlight was when IATSE members from across the country would stop at the booth and thank us for representing the workers that not only helped shape the content for the event, but physically put the convention together each year as well. One of the more rewarding aspects for the ADG Committee members at Comic-Con is our A participation in the Masquerade. Every year, dozens of people create elaborate costumes and act out little skits for an enthusiastic audience. Just seeing the amount of hard work and creativity that goes into these costumes is an inspiration. This year, we handed out two awards at the Masquerade. The award for Original Interpretation was given to The Deathly Hallows, a group of cosplayers who recreated the "Tale of Three Brothers" animated A. WINNER OF THE MASQUERADE AWARD FOR GRAPHIC REALIZATION, LA NOCHE B. THE WOMEN OF THE HOLLYWOOD ART DEPARTMENT PANEL. PANELISTS (L-R) ERIN E. RIEGEL, ANDREA ONORATO, HANNAH BEACHLER, AASHRITA KAMATH, ELLEN LAMPL, WITH MODERATOR KATE WEDDLE. B
