She moved to Los Angeles and worked with Chris Cunningham on visual art projects as an intern and has worked on shorts, TV pilots, web series and commercials as both a Production Designer and Art Director. Xiaowen graduated from Parsons in fashion design, and spent five years in costume and jewlery design, storyboard and background painting in New York. Before she came to America, she worked for nineteen years in Production Design, costume and character design, lighting design, storyboard drawing, and animation for Chinese film and television programs. Mauricio Abud F I R S T Y E A R F E L L O W Ken Chen F I R S T Y E A R F E L L O W Ken graduated from Beijing Film Academy with a BFA in Production Design and an Excellence in Design graduation award. Before he came to the United States to pursue his MFA at AFI, he worked as concept designer and Illustrator in several Chinese feature films. Mauricio graduated from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City in 2014, with a BA in communication and digital media. After graduating, he participated in the OPT program for a year and crewed for Art Departments for the local film industry. I.
