B M & T ••• July/August 2017 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com 16 W anting to experience the famous "17 Mile Drive," Carrie suggested a restaurant that she said had great food, phe- nomenal ocean views and would allow me to check out the 17 Mile Drive. As usual, she was right about all three. As I headed to Beach House at Lover's Point (a seafood restaurant), I was astonished by the views that the 17 mile drive offered. The drive felt as though you were driving on the beach, very peaceful and scenic. I arrived at Beach House at Lovers Point, and the waiter placed me next to a window where I was also spoiled with an ocean view. I must say…the ocean views never got old! I sat back at the restaurant and enjoyed my delicious shrimp scampi, while drinking a Manhattan and yet again falling in love with the calming and peaceful sound of ocean waves. Although my weekend stay in Carmel was far too short, it was amazing to have the opportunity to experience complete rest and relaxation, and leave the worries of everyday life at home. My experience at Hofsas Hotel, and Carrie's hospitality was nothing short of a blessing. My deluxe suite and Carrie's rec- ommendations were everything I could ask for, and made Carmel by the Sea a trip I will never forget. Now that I've gotten a taste of Carmel, I plan to visit every year, as there is so much more for me to explore!
