New library prepared for zombie apocalypse

ETROIT — This coming Halloween, Blastwave FX (www. blastwavefx.com) will release The Zombie Apocalypse
Sound Effects Library. The latest collection contains 666 devilish sounds for productions that center around the horror and gore of a zombie apocalypse. "This is probably one of my favorite libraries I've ever worked
on," says sound designer Ric Viers, who assembled the collection. "We documented most of the process in the weekly Detroit Chop Shop Video Diaries on our YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/ sfxbible). This collection has everything from zombie growls and moans, guns, production elements, sewer ambiences, rats, bodies being ripped in half, tongues being pulled out, victims under attack, eating flesh, scenes with mobs, martial law and looting, to a zombie being set on fire and burning to his doom." Internationally recognized artist Matt Busch (Star Wars, Indiana
Jones, Kiss, Motley Crue) created the poster design for the release, painting traditionally on a canvas. The collection will be available on both DVD and as a downloadable product with multiple formats (24-bit/96kHz, 16-bit/44.1kHz and MP3). The Zombie Apocalypse Sound Effects Library will retail for $99, but will be released for an introductory price of $66 on Halloween.
Northridge, CA's Soularity Sound (www.soularitysound.com), which provides audio post services to indie films, has upgraded to 5.1 surround sound production capabilities via Harman's JBL LSR4300 Series studio monitors. Korey Pereira (pictured) is the owner/lead engi- neer, and was looking for a monitor set-up that would accurately trans- late his mixes to the big screen. He purchased five JBL LSR4326P mon- itors and an LSR4312SP sub for his small space. Pereira's recent credits include the feature doc Incendiary: The Willingham Case. He is currently working on The Ascendant.
