www.postmagazine.com 40 POST AUGUST 2017 PEOPLE PAUL ALLIA Burbank, CA-based Picture Shop welcomes colorist Paul Allia, whose television projects include Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Minority Report. Allia comes to Picture Shop from Technicolor's Broadcast Division, where he worked as final colorist collaborating with Academy Award- winning writers and directors, including Dustin Lance Black on ABC's When We Rise. Allia is currently grading on DaVinci's Resolve. EDUARDO "ALVIN" CRUZ, MORTEN VINTHER Global creative studio MPC has announced two new additions to its US roster — Eduardo "Alvin" Cruz (left) joins MPC New York as cre- ative director, while Morten Vinther (right) joins MPC Los Angeles as the new head of 2D. Cruz joins MPC from Method, with an extensive portfolio in the VFX space. He's worked with many notable brands including Coca Cola, Target, Crown Royal, BMW, Volvo, Adidas and GE. Cruz was recently sole creative director on the 2016 Sundance-winning film, Swiss Army Man. Vinther joins MPC from Glassworks in Amsterdam, where he was head of 2D. Vinther has recently worked on ad content for top brands such as Nike, Samsung, Adidas, Netflix, Louis Vuitton, Smirnoff and Heineken. JAMES SWEIGERT LA-based animation and design studio Laundry welcomes James Sweigert as managing director. Sweigert, who brings extensive experience in marketing, brand strategy, design, TV and film production, will spearhead business development at Laundry. Sweigert will oversee all creative and production management and operations for the studio, which encompasses animation, design, VFX and live-action production. Sweigert arrives at Laundry following a tenure as executive producer of TV & streaming at mOcean. Prior to that, he was executive producer/partner at Nathaniel James, head of production at Brand New School and assistant executive producer at Fuel/Razorfish. ROB SCIARRATTA Post FactoryNY, part of the SIM Group family of companies, welcomes Rob Sciarratta as senior colorist to its team. Sciarratta, a five-time winner of the International Monitor Awards for Best Color Correction, will lead the company's color projects, beginning with the highly-anticipated Tom Cruise film slated for September release, American Made. Additional work highlights include Blumhouse Film's franchise: The Purge: Election Year and the HBO miniseries The Night Of, as well as commercials for AT&T, Coca-Cola, Mercedes and Beyoncé's Ghost music video. In addition, Sciarratta will continue his role as an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts in NYC teaching color correction. BEN APLEY, RONNIE KOFF LA visual studio Alma Mater has added executive producer Ben Apley (right) and director Ronnie Koff (left) to its team. The appointments mark a reunion for Apley, Koff, creative director/director Brian Mah and VFX supervisor James Anderson, who initially all met and worked with each other at Imaginary Forces. Since joining, Koff has already completed a CG-driven commercial campaign for GSD&M, and the main title sequence for the upcoming movie from Columbia Pictures, Rough Night. Koff began his career at Imaginary Forces, working with clients such as IBM, Yoplait, Oral-B and Tropicana. In 2014, he launched boutique creative studio Shuttlecraft, working with such brands as Olay, Kraft and Hershey's. Previously, Apley spent 11 years leading the creative operations of Imaginary Forces's LA office. There, he oversaw a wide range of work, including global commercial campaigns, branding and strategy, feature film and entertainment marketing, original series and branded content. CHRIS FERRITER LA's Halon Entertainment has promoted Halon producer and industry veteran Chris Ferriter to CEO. Ferriter joined Halon with over two decades of experience as a producer and designer in the entertainment industry. Ferriter joined Halon in 2016 to head up the studio's game cinematic department. Prior to that, Ferriter served as managing director of Divisive Media Australia. His previous experience includes managing producer for several of the game industry's top publishers including THQ, Midway and Ubisoft, as well as lead designer for EA Sports. Founder Daniel Gregoire will transition to chairman of the board. GABRIEL PORTNOF Framestore New York has hired CG supervisor Gabriel Portnof to join its roster. A born and bred New Yorker, Portnof returns to his roots after 15 years with Dreamworks in LA. During his tenure at Dreamworks, Portnof supervised such films as Turbo, Madagascar 3, Kung Fu Panda 3, Penguins of Madagascar and most recently Boss Baby. Portnof also spent time at Blue Sky Studios where he worked on Horton Hears a Who and previsualized all of the lighting for Ice Age 3. ELAINE CANTWELL New York City's Broadway Video, founded by Lorne Michaels, recently named Elaine Cantwell chief creative officer. In her new role, Cantwell leads Broadway Video's branding and creative division. She works collaboratively with clients including Crown Media, Televisa, NBCUniversal, Showtime, Disney and Scripps. She has done commercial work for Steven Spielberg's Minority Report, SC Johnson, Proctor & Gamble and Target. Prior to joining Broadway Video, Cantwell was head of creative services and creative director for 3 Ring Circus. In 2002, she founded the creative group Spark.
