www.postmagazine.com 12 POST AUGUST 2017 STOCK FOOTAGE GALLERY EVERGREEN, CO — Mammoth HD Stock Footage Library (www.mam mothhd.com/news/) has just released a number of new collections in its MammothHD Red 8K Library. New collections include 8K aerials, loca- tions, nature, animals/wildlife, abstracts, a variety of macros and more. Footage was shot on Red 8K cameras (Dragon, VistaVision and the Helium Sensor s35 models — Helium s35 and Epic-W). According to the company, new footage is being shot in 8K and its MHD/8K library is expected to grow fast. The company expects even more offerings this fall. Footage previews and clips can be found online, at MammothHD's Website at: www.mammothhd.com/8K/MHD_8K.html. MAMMOTH EXPANDS ITS RED 8K LIBRARY ARLINGTON, TX – Veteran storm cinematographer Martin Lisius, shooter for and founder of StormStock (www.stormstock.com), battled fierce winds and catastrophic flooding to capture the fury of Hurricane Katrina on film as the historic storm made landfall on the US coast in August 2005. "It occurred to me the day before Katrina made landfall in the Gulf of Mexico that it had potential to become the costliest storm in US history," says Lisius. "It has since captured that title." The material photographed by Lisius on Super 35mm and HD video was recently made exclusive to StormStock. According to the company, some TV and film producers consider it among the best hurricane footage ever shot. "We were able to capture the usual things like horizontal rain, trees bending over and debris flying through the air and scraping across the ground," Lisius adds. "But the most amazing scene we encountered was in Moss Point, MI where we came upon a parking lot that was flooding with storm surge and covering cars. People were stranded inside the hotel there, staring down from the upper floors when a high water rescue team arrived. The team, from the local fire department, battled winds gusting to 100 mph to search each vehicle. It made for some very powerful imagery." Lisius captured the storm using two cameras — shooting in HD on a Sony HVR-Z1U and Super 35mm film with an Arri 35-3 Mk II using Kodak Vision2 250D film stock. Steve Franko at Rising Fall in Dallas did the color work on the 35mm and transferred it to HDCAM. "I shot 35mm until film ran out (3 x 400' magazines total)," adds Lisius, "then I shot HD video on the Sony." STORMSTOCK OFFERS KATRINA FOOTAGE DENVER — Wazee Digital (www.wazeedigital.com), provider of cloud-native video management and licens- ing services, has announced that Images of Freedom has added rare images of Sen. John S. McCain III to its extensive media library. Built on the Wazee Digital Core platform, Images of Freedom is a media library of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and offers citizens online access to a wealth of public-domain still and video assets. The new collection of images depicts McCain, then a U.S. Navy lieutenant commander, returning home in 1973 after five and a half years of internment in a Hanoi prison camp during the Vietnam War. The images were made available by the U.S. Defense Imagery Management Operations Center (DIMOC) Still Imagery Collection. "This rare and extremely valuable collection will be inspirational for all Americans, but especially veterans and, now, cancer survivors — given Sen. McCain's courageous new fight with the disease," says Josh Hatter, senior vice president, operations, Wazee Digital. "The images are just the latest example of how Images of Freedom continues to enhance its media library to protect and preserve America's visual history. It's an honor for Wazee Digital to be such a central part of this effort." Running on the Wazee Digital Core platform, Images of Freedom is a massive, searchable library of mil- itary audio, video and still imagery built in cooperation with the DOD. Through the media library, anyone — students and educational institutions, families of military personnel, members of the media, documentarians and others — can retrieve any of more than a million U.S. military images and videos dating back to before World War II. Newly digitized and metadata-enriched assets are fed daily to Core, which powers the Images of Freedom archive. WAZEE-POWERED IMAGES OF FREEDOM ADDS JOHN MCCAIN SHOTS TO ARCHIVE
