He is a veteran film producer and editor, and most recently served as SVP, operations. Cottingham has been in senior roles with the company, helping with its overall growth over the past 10 years, moving from hands-on filming and editing pro- duction services to overseeing all aspects of production and post production operations management. Under his leadership, Post Time Studios produced video content for clients that include PetSmart, Office Depot, Lexmark and The Red Door by Elizabeth Arden. REID PAUL, DENNIS HOFFMAN LA's Stargate Studios has named Reid Paul (photo, left) the studio's new head of production, while Dennis Hoffman (photo, right) has been ap- pointed president of Stargate Studios Vancouver. With Stargate for more than 10 years, Paul brings more than 30 years of experience creating visual effects for feature films, broadcast and special venue projects and post. He's worked as a VFX supervisor and producer for more than 100 films and broad- cast programs, and is a longtime member of the Visual Effects Society (VES). Hoffman is a visual effects veteran with more than 26 years of industry expe- rience. Prior to Stargate, Hoffman was the managing director and senior VP of Framestore in Montreal. While at Framestore, Hoffman oversaw projects includ- ing Paddington, The Legend of Tarzan and Pan, and is a founding member at the Visual Effects Society (VES). SAMIR MALLAL Missing Pieces, with studios in New York City and LA, welcomes filmmaker Samir Mallal to its lineup. Joining the rosters for both live action and VR/experiential/ digital, Mallal is a multidisciplinary talent, making waves in commercials, documentary and VR, gaining notice in the commercial world in 2010 with his Tropicana commercial Arctic Sun. He's helmed commercials for such international brands as GE, Google, Coca- Cola and Starbucks. Mallal began his career in the documentary realm, and has co-directed three feature-length documentaries, including Nollywood Babylon, which debuted in the documentary competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009 and was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize. SARAH BUTTERWORTH Not To Scale, an international film and animation content production business, has appointed Sarah Butterworth as managing director at its London studio. Butterworth's appointment follows the successful expansion of Not To Scale into Amsterdam and New York by founder Dan O'Rourke. Butterworth has been promoted to managing director having spent the last two years as executive producer at the London studio. Butterworth will oversee the London studio's creative output as well as its new talent and new business activity. She will also join Not To Scale's global board. CAMERON YERGLER Cutters Studios is welcoming back editor Cameron Yergler to its staff in Chicago. Yergler began his commercial career at Cutters Chicago in 2010. Distinguishing himself as a Best of Chicago AICE nominee over the next two years, Yergler relocated to New York City as an essential member of the team that opened the Cutters studio there in 2013. Since then, he has worked on high-profile campaigns for 3M, Amazon Originals, BCBS, Facebook, Humana, Maserati, the United Nations and CVS, for which he won an AICE award with Cutters editor Nadav Kurtz in 2015. His extensive work on narrative and documentary films also includes the dramatic short, Gema, currently on the film festival circuit. DANIELLE SCLAFANI New York City creative editorial shop Uppercut has added editor Danielle Sclafani to its roster. Sclafani joins Uppercut after serving as an editor at Crew Cuts, where she spent nearly seven years cutting spots for such brands as CVS, Starbucks, GE, Accenture and IBM. Her visual storytelling style and passion for creative collaboration have fostered a reputable list of repeat clients, and a reel that showcases a wide variety of styles and genres. Sclafani continues to allow her film background to inform her work in the commercial space, extracting compelling narrative and emotion from the script to convey stories that speak to the masses. CHRIS HILL, SAMI TAHARI LA creative company Imaginary Forces, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has added executive producer Chris Hill (photo, left) and director of business development Sami Tahari (photo, right) to its Los Angeles studio. Hill's diverse production experience includes commercials, experience design, entertainment marketing and branding for such clients as HBO Sports, Google, A&E and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He joins Imaginary Forces after recently pre- siding over the broadcast division of award-winning entertainment marketing agency BPG. Tahari brings extensive marketing, business and product devel- opment experience spanning the tech and entertainment spaces. His notable tenures include Lionsgate and Google, where he was an instrumental leader in the creative development and marketing of Google Glass. STEVE HOLYHEAD AJA Video Systems welcomes Steve Holyhead as its new senior product manager for desktop products, based in the company's Grass Valley, CA, headquarters. Holyhead joins AJA from Fox Broadcasting Company, where he most recently served as director of technical operations. Holyhead worked in senior positions both client-side in production, and with technology developers that include Avid and Discreet (now Autodesk). In addition to working with Fox, Holyhead's 20- plus years of industry experience include developing professional digital video workflows with BloomCast, managing post production operations at Discovery Communications and working as a technology evangelist, producer and techni- cal marketing manager for both Discreet Logic and Avid Technology.
